Poco Loco Mexican Restaurant: Authentic Flavors in Thornburg, VA

This place was a very pleasant surprise. When my father saw the building, he wanted to go somewhere else, but it was good that we didn't because the food was exceptional and the atmosphere was unique. The interior feels small, because it is divided into many smaller rooms, but that actually gave a more intimate space for each set of tables. You didnt feel like you were in a crowded restaurant at any point, which we enjoyed. I had the Chile Colorado with salsa Verde and man, that pork was so succulent. My father had the grilled chicken tacos and raved about how good they were. We also had an order of Guacamole as an appetizer and it too was delicious. Service was fast and friendly. No complaints at all. This will be a regular spot for me. Very good

Their cheese dip is amazing. Probably one of the best I ever had. The agua fresca large size is HUGE! And very refreshing. Their torta is pretty flavorful, I had the carne asada one and some people might not care for it, as the meat is very overcooked and flavorful- not an issue for me. I didn’t care for their beans and for their chicken in the mar y tierra. Service was great.

I had the chicken soup which was fantastic. Packed with flavors. The bean sauce was amazing. The beef empanadas were good. Needed a bit of pepper to break up the sauce flavor that was mixed with the beef. The crust was delicious.

The food here was simply AMAZING! I asked the waitress for her favorite dish and she didn’t steer me wrong. Would absolutely come back. You must try this place.

Super easy parking lot, easy to find the spot, nice service, and large food portions. I loved the salsa and bean dip with the chips at the beginning, very flavorful. I would say the entree food was good but wish the guac had a bit more seasoning or spice.

Great food- the burritos are huge! Had a guacamole which was good. The Salsa Verde on the Carnitas Locas was the best thing we tried. Absolutely amazing flavor with great spice levels and the meat was tender and hit the spot. Great selection of bottled sodas. I think the only warning I would give is that the Kids Mac n’ Queso is a bit soup-y so I can see a picky kid eater not wanting it. But still good.

Excellent food and service at great prices. Very fun environment with authentic food. We had a variety of dishes and the flavors were excellent.
